What Is Physiatry?
Physiatrists (“fiz-ee-a-trists”) are physicians specializing in the non-surgical treatment of painful nerve, joint, and muscle conditions. Our goal is to restore your function so you can get back to the quality of life you’ve been missing.
- Spine conditions: We offer effective, non-surgical solutions for conditions that affect the spine. Common spine conditions include arthritis, disc degeneration, herniated discs, sciatica, and whiplash.
- Sports injuries: Musculoskeletal injuries sustained on or off the field can damage joints, muscles, and ligaments. Rotator cuff injuries, bursitis, tendonitis, shoulder, knee, ankle injuries, and other such problems can be painful and require aggressive rehabilitation to get you back in the game.
- Nerve injuries: Pain can originate from any part of your body’s musculoskeletal system. Muscle and nerve damage is often caused by work or auto accidents resulting in back, neck, and extremity pain. Examples include radiculopathy and neuropathy.
- Work injuries: On-the-job injuries can occur in virtually every field. Some common work-related injuries include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, back injuries, and more.
"The goal is to treat the whole person and not just their symptoms and to provide the best care for each patient, in the same way, I would treat my own family." – Michael Wolff, M.D.
Reviews
SW Spine & Sports is on top of their game. Dr Wolf was fast, efficient, thorough, and pleasant. Hard to ask much more!
Dr Wolff really took the time to listen to why I was there and did an ultrasound at my first visit to see what was causing all of my pain. I left with a game plan to alleviate my pain.

Best place! Sheila and staff were friendly & busy. Took time! Very professional. My procedure was a piece of cake and no pain! Great advice from all on the protocol that I’m am involved in. Thanks to all!
SW Sports and Spine is a great practice. The staff are friendly, caring, and competent. Dr. Wolff asks questions and listens to your answers. He is able to find the source of your pain, explain what he can do to alleviate it, and then stop the pain. He also looks for other related problems and refers you to another specialist if needed. The surgical center that he does procedures in is also a five star facility. Dr Wolff has improved my life, and my wife's life, tremendously.
