What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles containing proteins, nutrients, and genetic information produced by many cells, including stem cells. Their unique composition and ability to carry biological information enable the vesicles to travel through the bloodstream, distribute these nutrients into other cells, and enhance cell-to-cell communication. Healthy exosomes have been shown to stimulate and heal injured and damaged cells and kickstart the growth of good tissue within the body.

Here at Southwest Spine & Sports, exosomes are obtained from sterilized donated placenta mesenchymal stem cells knowingly donated by the healthy mother just after the birth of their child. The stem cells are obtained via strict regulatory guidelines and tested to ensure they are healthy and disease-free. As they originate from the newborn’s placenta, the cells are the youngest cells possible, so the exosomes are healthy, potent, and plentiful.

Exosome therapy performed at our Scottsdale, AZ facility may be able to treat the following conditions:

  • Degenerative conditions
  • Chronic pain
  • Inflammation
  • Muscle and tendon tears
  • Aging cells

Extracellular Vesicles

Extracellular Vesicles are small packages of information that are isolated vesicles from mesenchymal stem cells (MSC’s). They act locally to exert a biologic effect. They contain proteins, messenger-RNA and micro-RNA that have anti-inflammatory benefits, inhibit cell death, increase blood flow.

How Is Exosome Therapy Performed?

During exosome therapy, your practitioner at Southwest Spine & Sports will carefully inject the cells into the injured area of the body. We perform this as a simple, non-surgical, outpatient procedure. Once injected, the highly concentrated nutrients within the exosomes are rapidly distributed through the body and start repairing the affected cells. Then, new, healthy tissue is created.

About Us

SW Sports and Spine is a great practice. The staff are friendly, caring, and competent. Dr. Wolff asks questions and listens to your answers. He is able to find the source of your pain, explain what he can do to alleviate it, and then stop the pain. He also looks for other related problems and refers you to another specialist if needed. The surgical center that he does procedures in is also a five star facility. Dr Wolff has improved my life, and my wife's life, tremendously.
